White Oak Floor Lamp

This floor lamp is built utilizing White Oak from the local Oak Forest neighborhood in Houston, TX. The piece is suspended off the deck with a unique steel base that is mortised through the bottom of the wooden structure. The steel base is a 1" thick solid steel plate which gives the piece great stability. The steel is patina'd and clear coated with a matte finish. The wood is finished with an all natural beeswax and olive oil hand rubbed wax. The lighting element features a 10" filament bulb, antique brass socket, and wired with tan fabric rayon cord.
