Cedar Root Sculpture

This very fun piece was created from a Cedar root system that was pulled from the bottom of Lake travis in Austin, TX. The root was milled free handed and opened up into the book matched set you now see. It has been finished with an all natural hand rubbed beeswax and olive oil. The sculpture is separated by two solid steel rods that are mortised into the wood. The piece is designed to be suspended vertically on a wall.
