Cedar Floor Lamp

This unique piece of Cedar was pulled from the bottom of Lake Travis in Austin, TX. Standing just over 9' tall it is supported by steel mortised into the bottom of the base and welded to a solid 1" thick steel plate. The metal was patina'd to really bring out Copper and Auburn colors and clear coated with a matte protective coating to prevent further oxidation. The unique light shade was cut from a steel pipe which is flared out in the center before tapering in at the bottom. The light fixture is wired with tan Rayon fabric cord which is ghosted throughout most of the structure.
